The first weekend in March 2020, the Digestive Disease National Coalition (DDNC) will hold their annual Public Policy Forum in Washington DC at the Washington Court Hotel.
The theme of this year’s event is “Patient Access to Digestive Care and Treatment.” The afternoon of Sunday, March 1 will feature educational panel presentations. Nancy Ginter, Director of Administration for Beyond Celiac, will moderate a government panel presentation, with speakers Wendy I. Savit, MPH, CHES, a health scientist at the FDA and David Hickam, MD, MPH,the Program Director of the Clinical Effectiveness and Decision Science program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
On Monday, March 2nd, participants in this Public Policy Forum will go the Capitol for Senate and House Congressional visits. Representing Beyond Celiac and the celiac disease community, Ginter will advocate for support of the Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act of 2019 (HR2074 and S3021), along with increased funding for research in the field of digestive diseases.
